Bowls and Plates at Chase Dining Hall

The new renovated dining halls have resulted in positive changes on campus, even if the food itself remains the same. There are greater varieties of food and events that have taken place over the past year, all making for a lot of improvements. However, one glaring problem that has come about is in the change of dishes and bowls in Chase. The new ones are all square shaped, which is fine, except that the cleaning equipment can't seem to deal with the discoloration, and perhaps even germs from the previous eater and food. It look like all the food hasn't been cleaned off. This makes for a disturbing lack of cleanliness on the part of our school.

One possibility, and the I like to think is true, is that the material of the dishes and bowls is one that has stains from food  be colored onto the plate, but that it is still clean. In any case, it would be nice for the Chase dining hall to address this issue, as many students are very concerned and put off by the apparent noncleanliness of the plates. It doesn't seem to make sense to use cleaning equipment for round plates that aren't working for new square ones. Whatever the reasoning, it would be nice to be reassured and have this issue resolved.
